YouthWorks Dever...and the Rockies v Brewers

After visiting red rocks for a hike I found a place for free dinner! I wanted to visit the YouthWorks Denver team and since it was Thursday night it was community cookout night! Well...it rained, but I still got the chance to stop by the church and meet the staff. Instead of a cookout, they had a mall scavenger hunt at the Cherry Creek mall so I went and hung out with them for an hour or so. It was great to meet the team and to see YouthWorks Denver!

After I left the mall I realized that it was only four hours or so until Harry potter...and the brewers were playing the Rockies. And Coors field was only a short ten minute drive away. So I went downtown, parked for $5 and went looking for a cheap ticket from a scalper.

About a block away from the stadium I met Mr.T follow our conversation below:

"hey, you need tickets?"

Yea. I just want to get in.

Alright yea you just want cheap ones. I got you. $12

I don't think so. What about the rock pile? $4?(I already knew these $4 tickets were sold out for this game.)

Nope. Rock Pile is all sold out.

Okay. Well I'm only gonna pay $5.

Okay I got you. Here. Gimme $10.

Nope. Come on man. It's already the fourth inning. You aren't gonna sell those tickets anyway.

Okay. Flip me for it. You win, you pay $5 I win you pay $8.

No. I only wanna pay $5. We can flip but if I lose I'm walking away.

No. Not fair. Just flip.

(me taking the coin and flipping) okay I'll flip but if I lose I'm walking. ( I call heads)

(coin lands HEADS) what is it?

It's heads. I won. Are you selling for $5?

Nope. You were walking so I'm walking since I lost.

(I hand the coin back) okay. See you.

(as I am walking away) okay okay. Gimme $5.

(handing over the money) okay so how do I know this is good?

(showing me the roll of other tickets) look. I got a bunch. I got the, from the box office all at once. It's good. You can find me here any day. This is my place.

(me walking away) okay. Thanks man

Yea. Good luck getting in with that ticket! Ha! ( as I turn and smile at him) no no don't worry I'm just kiddig.
















Well the ticket was for the upper deck, but I never even made it to the seat. I entered the stadium behind home plate and just stood at the top of that section for the remaining 5 innings of the game.

Good to see the brewers pay. Even though they got killed. Just fun to be in another major league stadium !

The brewers just so happen to be playing the San Francisco Giants next week when we are in the bay area, so I might just get to see them again.
