So, we made it to Vegas, ate some breakfast, went to church at the Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church that is basically on the strip, went to the MGM grand sports book to make a bet on the game (and the twins game for me) and were in our seats in the first row a full hour before the game started at 11:45am pacific time.

The church...

Or hotel, Excalibur...

The sports book from our seats...unfortunately as Japan is celebrating...

It was a great atmosphere to watch the game. When it started, there were about 100 people watching and still some empty seats. By the end of regulation time all the seats were full and there were probably about another 100 people standing around watching.
All was not lost with the unfortunate end to the game. I actually bet on Japan so I got paid. I also bet on the Twins and they won too! It was great watching the twins game on a 50" tv right below the huge projection screen of the world cup. Great morning.
After the game we checked into our hotel, Theo slept, and Ben went down and played some poker at the MGM.
That night we went up to see the fountain light show and just walk the strip a bit. Before we knew it it was 1:30am! That city really doesn't sleep.

The view from our hotel room.

We checked out at 11 am on Monday and headed to California!
Location:Las Vegas, NV
